Before his retirement, Zalman was a practicing behavioral psychologist and professor at Concordia University in Montreal. He was also a serious folk art collector. He now spends hours in his workshop creating complex and exotic wood turnings, some of which are displayed at the Peer Gallery in Lunenburg and the remaining ones here on this website.
